A total of 76 officers from Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Rwanda National Police and Rwanda Correctional Service completed a five-month Junior Command and Staff Course at the RDF Command and Staff College in Nyakinama on Friday, October 11.
In a graduation ceremony held at the Musanze-based college, RDF Chief of Defence Staff Gen Mubarakh Muganga reminded the offices the importance of in-service development and urged the officers to serve the country while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
“As you depart this College, you have a significant role to play in our country’s transformation in the years ahead,” Muganga told the officers.
“You must contribute meaningfully to the positive side in the clash of ideas defining the world today. His Excellency Paul Kagame, The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief, has consistently emphasised the importance of rigorous training in preparing individuals to effectively defend national interests and address defence challenges.
Seventy-two officers are from the RDF, two from the Police and another two from the correctional service.
Graduates who excelled in the training were awarded. The overall best student was Capt Michael Nsengiyumva, while Maj Vedaste Masabo received the Best College Research Paper award.
The pass-out ceremony was attended by Generals and Senior Officers from the RDF and the Police, alongside the graduates’ families, friends, religious leaders, and local authorities from the Northern Province.
