Kagame makes new appointments in RDF

President Paul Kagame on Monday, October 14, made new appointments in the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF).

Maj Gen Alex Kagame was appointed Reserve Force Chief of Staff, replacing Maj Gen Frank Mugambage, who was in acting capacity. Until August, Alex Kagame was the commander of the Rwanda Security Force (RSF) Joint Task Force in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado Province.

Maj Gen Andrew Kagame was appointed commander of the RDF Division 1, the RDF said in a statement. Division 1 covers the City of Kigali and Eastern Province.

He replaces Maj Gen Emmy Ruvusha. who took over from Alex Kagame as RSF Joint Task Force commander in August.

Until his new appointment, Andrew Kagame was the Deputy Reserve Force Chief of Staff
