Morgan Freeman is getting busy living.
Indeed, the 87-year-old stepped out in Los Angeles Nov. 24 for a rare night out with friends, enjoying a dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.
For the occasion, the Shawshank Redemption star kept it lowkey—wearing a flannel button-up shirt, along with a black baseball hat and black pants. He also sported a beige compression glove on his left hand, an accessory he has periodically sported since a 2012 car accident left him with nerve damage.
Shortly after the accident, Morgan called the injury—which left his left arm practically unusable—“excruciating,” however he has also maintained a positive outlook on the life-changing ailment.
“There is a point to changes like these,” he told Esquire in 2012, lamenting the loss of some of his favorite hobbies including sailing and flying planes. “I have to move on to other things, to other conceptions of myself. I play golf. I still work.”
